From the Corn Belt of the United States to the Pampas of Argentina to the production fields in Europe to the Punjab region of Pakistan and India, we talk to thousands of farmers and consumers every day.
They tell a consistent story. Farmers care about feeding people, while protecting the land for the next generation, and are concerned about economics and profitability. They are worried about bearing the brunt of costs associated with new processes, routines and regulations. They are concerned about their children’s future and, indeed, the future of their family farms. They want better and simpler solutions. And they understand consumer expectations about food and agriculture are changing, but worry they may lack the resources to stay ahead of these changes.
Consumers tell us a similar story. They see the benefits of technology in creating greater food security and quality. They want greater transparency into where their food was grown, how it was grown, by whom and the manner in which it was distributed.
We’re using these and other insights to guide our thinking about every aspect of our business. They’re influencing our innovation pipeline priorities and shaping our focus on delivering solutions that help farmers and farming communities become more productive, profitable and secure.
We also know that there are no better stewards of the land than farmers. They have the strongest desire to preserve the land and pass it on to the next generation. Today, sustainability and agriculture are as inextricably linked as sunshine and plant growth.
